Q - What is the spatula for?
A - The spatula is to prolong the shelf life of your product. Pure Lochside products are 100% natural with no chemical preservatives therefore the spatula is required to help prevent bacteria getting into the product.
Q - Can I use any of the products during pregnancy?
A - Most of the products are too potent for use during pregnancy, as we use highly concentrate blends of essential oils. You can have a bespoke Pure Lochside face oil created for use during pregnancy, which will address any imbalances, etc. See the Bespoke service link in the toolbar for further information.
Q - Are any of the products suitable for sensitive skin?
A - The Gentle face Treatment Oil has been specifically designed for sensitive skin. Sensitivity is a skin condition rather than a skin type and the therapeutic grade organic essential oils in this blend help to balance and soothe.
Q - What are Essential Oils?
A - Essential Oils are naturally occurring plant chemicals. It is said that they are the life force of the plant. Each oil contains many naturally occurring chemical constituents that each has its own function. This is why one essential oil can have many different effects.
Q - What is Aromatherapy?
A - Aromatherapy involves the use of aromatic Essential Oils to promote the body's own natural healing process. This can be done in a variety of ways, from massage, inhalations, baths, compresses, etc.
NB: Always consult a qualified Aromatherapist before using neat Essential Oils as there are many cautions to be aware of - especially with children and during pregnancy.
Skin Absorption - Essential Oils have the ability to penetrate into the bloodstream (through the skin) and travel around the body helping to balance and regulate. A simple way to see how quickly oils penetrate into the skin is to rub garlic on the soles of your feet and you will be able to taste it on your breath in about half an hour!
Q - What does the number mean in the Jar Symbol on the Label?
A - Product Lifespan. Each product label shows a symbol of a jar with a number inside. This signifies the recommended number of months within which the product should be used. We have kept the numbers low for two reasons:
- The products do not contain strong preservatives like parabens (which most skin care ranges put in their products) - the essential oils and herbal extracts in ours help to preserve them naturally, but not forever.
- This is the optimum time for maximising the potent synergy of the active ingredients. The product should still be able to be used after that time, but will not be as powerful. The ingredients are freshest, and deliver the most striking results if used within the period stated.
