Q - What are antioxidants?

A - Antioxidants help protect healthy cells against the cell damaging free radicals (unstable atoms that destruct cells). Vitamins A, C and E are powerful antioxidants.

All Pure Lochside products contain plant extracts with high levels of natural antioxidants. Our entire range is designed to neutralise environmental damage and prevent aging.

Additional antioxidant vitamins are added to every product to increase the level of protection against the cell damaging free radicals.

The Pure Lochside Daily Face Oils contain Pure Face Serum which contains powerful anti oxidants such as Vitamin E; Sea Buckthorn which is packed full of anti oxidant vitamins and also Rosehip oil that is renowned for it’s natural vitamin A content - a key ingredient proven to reverse signs of aging.

All our vegetable oils are cold pressed and manufactured in a natural way that maintains a high vitamin and mineral content.

Antioxidant rich products are great for reversing sun damage on the décolleté area, we find our clients get quick results when using the Daily Face Oils on the neck and décolleté.

Q - Can any of the products be used on sensitive skin?

A - Organic Orange Cleansing Oil and Gentle Face Treatment Oil

The Gentle Face Treatment Oil has been specifically designed to soothe sensitive skin. Sensitive skin is a condition rather than skin type and the therapeutic grade organic essential oils in this blend help to balance and soothe, along with healing rosehip and calendula. we use only the purest natural ingredients in our products.

Sensitive skin can react to anything from grass to washing powder and occasionally essential oils. We have customers who have suffered with extreme sensitivity for years and now happily enjoy using our complete range.

Q - What is the Pure Lochside Anti-Ageing Complex™?

A - Our exclusive Anti-Ageing Complex™ is the vital blend we add to the key products from our range – the Face Treatment Oils and Body & Bath Oils.

Powerful, yet completely natural, this bioactive rejuvenating complex has been created by Pure Lochside founder Fiona Tutte to give our organic products their unique energy – and give you real results – without resorting to harsh additives.

High levels of vitamins have been selected for their antioxidant qualities, and carefully blended with concentrated extracts of sea buckthorn and arctic cranberry to create a formula unique to Pure Lochside products.  Organic rosehip and argan oil lend the complex its extraordinary regenerative power (with natural retinol acid, omega 3 and vitamin E to help heal scarring and diminish photoaging) while essential oils quench and rejuvenate skin.

Q - What is sea buckthorn?

A - Sea Buckthorn is a plant used at optimum levels in our products for skin rejuvenation and accelerated healing properties it helps to alleviate sunburn and promote cell rejuvenation. It also has excellent pain and stress relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. It is rich is Omega 7.

You will find it in our Pure Face Serum and Siberian Ginseng Eye Gel.

Q - Why is pumpkin seed oil used on the skin?

A - Although pumpkin seeds are usually eaten as a healthly snack we feel you shouldn't put anything on your skin that you wouldn't eat. Our organic pumpkin seed oil is high in vitamins A, B2, B3 and beta carotene, potassium, magnesium, omega 3, 6 and 9, and most importantly zinc.

The high zinc content helps to achieve a lifting effect – that’s why you’ll also find pumpkin seed oil in our Siberian Ginseng Eye Gel as well as our Daily FaceTreatment Oils and Body Oils.

Q - Can I use any of the products during pregnancy?

A - Some of the products are too potent for use during pregnancy, as we use highly concentrate blends of essential oils. The Organic Orange Cleansing Oil and Purifying Facial Spritz are ideal to use throughout to cleanse & purify. You can have a bespoke Pure Lochside Face Treatment Oil created for use during pregnancy, which will address any imbalances, etc. See the Bespoke Service link in the toolbar for further information.

Q - What is Aromatherapy?

A - Aromatherapy involves the use of aromatic Essential Oils to promote the body's own natural healing process. This can be done in a variety of ways, from massage, inhalations, baths, compresses, etc.

NB: Always consult a qualified Aromatherapist before using neat Essential Oils as there are many cautions to be aware of - especially with children and during pregnancy.

Skin Absorption - Essential Oils have the ability to penetrate into the bloodstream (through the skin) and travel around the body helping to balance and regulate. A simple way to see how quickly oils penetrate into the skin is to rub garlic on the soles of your feet and you will be able to taste it on your breath in about half an hour!

Q - What are Essential Oils?

A - Essential Oils are naturally occurring plant chemicals. It is said that they are the life force of the plant. Each oil contains many naturally occurring chemical constituents that each has its own function. This is why one essential oil can have many different effects.
